GREENOVATION 2018 Report

Technology has always been advancing from the birth of civilisation and thus the resources depleting. We care less for the problems that are affecting us as a whole, not even those which may create havoc in future. Rightly said by Albert Einstein, "Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them", and therefore with this motto, Energy Club MNIT Jaipur brought its 4th edition of Greenovation- Sustainable Energy and Green Innovation Hunt, asking for new ideas and innovations that can lead us to a better sustainable life.

There were three rounds in this event with four Problem Statements. The First Round (Abstract Submission) attracted about 80 Innovative abstracts which were later scrutinized by the Club members and Scholars for the Second Round (Presentation). In the Second Round (18 March 2018) 20 selected teams were judged on how they were able to present their ideas in form of a presentation and effectiveness in creating these innovative projects.

The third and the last round (13 April 2018) allowed the qualified teams to exhibit their ideas in the exhibition through working/ non-working models, posters or any other suitable media. Eight teams presented their models in the exhibition. Centre for Energy and Environment Faculties including Dr.Kapil Pareek, Dr. Jyotirmay Mathur, Dr. V. Vivekanand, research scholars and keen students judged the feasibility and innovativeness in the projects and thus got involved in the marking of the final result of the competition. The Faculty Coordinators, Judges and other scholars suggested that the participants should develop their innovative ideas into a reality and bringing the change in the society which is the actual goal of this event, also coordinating each idea with the other to help build a sustainable world.

The felicitation ceremony was held on the same day. Team GN24 comprising of Sai Sankalp, Sunayna Gupta and Tanya Bhatnagar bagged the First position for their "Internet based Smart Switching Solution: Smartifi", GN16 comprising Devilal and Shubham Kumar got Second position for "Compact Wind Turbine for Home Power" and Keshav Sarraf of GN21 settled for Third position. Dr. Kapil Pareek addressed the gathering and awarded participants with the prizes. Energy Club senior member Anish Raj gave Vote of Thanks to the gathering and thus the extravagant event came to a halt and hopefully we stepped a step more towards a better future for our society.
